Use the same files in MQL4 and MQL5 code without copying

I work in both MQL4 and MQL5 and share as much code as I can to reduce duplication.

To do that I set up my MT5 and MT4 installations so that the files delivered with MT4 or MT5 remain with that version but all of my own files are common to both.

This is a walkthrough of setting up an installation of both MT4 and MT5 so that your custom files can be shared.

  1. Do you ever work with clients to develop EAs? I have an idea for an EA, and though I have done a little MT4 programming, I am not a professional programmer. I am viewing your content, and, through it I could eventually get where I want to go, but development would be faster if I could hire someone to write the more advanced parts. Are you available for this?
