Jim Langlands began his trading career in the commodities markets, in London in 1976, before moving to Australia in 1979 to work as a floor trader on the Sydney Futures Exchange. He did this for 2 years before moving into Foreign Exchange and has since worked in senior trading and management positions in various international financial centres.
Aside from FX, Jim also has a wide knowledge of all the other asset classes traded in Financial Markets including Equities, Bonds and Commodities, as well as all the trading tools, including derivatives such as options, futures and CFDs.
Over many years, Jim has a built a wide contact base in FX, having been employed by AML/Elders Finance (Sydney – 2 years), Wardley (HSBC -Sydney/HK-3 years), Bank of America (Sydney/London -12 years), CBA (Sydney -5 Years) and Macquarie Bank (Sydney -2 years).
He also worked for Westpac (5 years) in the Financial Services Division and for the past 10 years has built and run his own advisory/trading operation. Jim has been using charts throughout his career and has in in-depth knowledge of all the major technical theories and methodologies.
Arthur McAlister started his career in accounting but quickly moved to a technology focus and has worked in Information Technology since 1980.
In his career Arthur has worked for a number of software and telecommunication companies as well as financial and trading institutions including UBS, Citibank, NAB, Westpac and AMP where he has held a number of senior technology positions.
With his exposure to financial markets Arthur began working on retail foreign exchange in 2012 and since then has worked with a numbr of clients to develop trading models and to create and deliver training both in trading and general platform use.
He is now focused on further developing tools and training through Orchard Forex.
